MIM Chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi residence in Delhi was attacked once again by unidentified individuals. They defaced his house with black ink on the nameplate and gate, obscuring his name. Posters were also posted with slogans like “Jai Bharat Mata” and “I stand with Israel.” The BJP and other parties criticized Owaisi after he shouted “Jai Palestine” during his oath-taking in Parliament, sparking uproar.
Owaisi, unfazed by the assaults, challenged his attackers to a face-to-face meeting instead of resorteding to cowardly actions like vandalism. He bemoaned the fact that MPs were constantly being singled out for attention and asked for stronger security protocols, branding Union Home Minister Amit Shah as a dupe.
Similar incidents have previously targeted Owaisi’s residence, including a shooting incident in 2022 during the Uttar Pradesh election campaign and stone-throwing in February 2023 when he was out of the country in Jaipur. The “Jai Palestine” chant outraged NDA MPs, but Owaisi stood by his actions, claiming he had a right to call attention to issues that the most vulnerable people suffer.
