On its third day of release, Salman Khan’s “Tiger 3” achieved two new records, making an estimated Rs 42 crore. As part of the YRF Spy Universe, the action-thriller has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in its first two days, reaching a nett domestic total of Rs 146 crore. This marks Salman’s 17th movie to surpass the Rs 100 crore nett milestone.
Boasting Salman’s biggest-ever opening, “Tiger 3” uniquely premiered on a Sunday during Diwali, raking in Rs 44 crore. The film witnessed substantial growth on its second day, earning Rs 58 crore. Globally, it has surpassed Rs 220 crore, aiming to surpass “Ek Tha Tiger’s” Rs 330 crore global gross. Comparatively, “Tiger Zinda Hai” grossed Rs 565 crore in 2017.
On day three, the Hindi version of “Tiger 3” reported a 33% occupancy, while the dubbed Tamil and Telugu versions had under 20% each. While not as popular in South India as Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 hits, “Pathaan” and “Jawan,” both crossing Rs 1000 crore globally, Salman’s film targets the Rs 475 global gross set by Hrithik Roshan’s “War.”
Directed by Maneesh Sharma and starring Salman and Katrina Kaif, “Tiger 3” is the fifth installment in YRF’s spy film universe, including “Pathaan” and “War.” Shah Rukh and Hrithik made cameos, setting the stage for future installments. “War 2” is in production under Ayan Mukerji, with a teased “Tiger vs Pathaan” film directed by Siddharth Anand.
