This was indeed a wonderful gesture by Dubai Hospital for not only treating a Covid-19 patient from Telangana but also taking care of his other expenses and return ticket. There had been several instances of people doing wonderful things and helping migrant workers walking back home. However, this happened in a foreign country. Odnala Rajesh who hails from Jagtiyal district and a native of Venugumatla village in Telangana State was getting treated in Dubai Hospital for the last 80 days.

The 42-year old was a construction worker in Dubai for the last two years. He was admitted on 23rd April after testing positive of Covid-19. After recovering there was a hefty bill of 1 crore 52 lakh in Indian Rupees. His caretaker and president of the Gulf Workers' Protection Society in Dubai cascaded the information to Sumanth Reddy, an Indian Consulate volunteer in Dubai. Sumanth Reddy requested Harjeet Singh, Consul (Labour) of Indian Consulate in Dubai to look into the matter. Harjeet Singh immediate got in touch with the Dubai Hospital management and requested them to waive off the bill for the poor man. The multi-specialty hospital obliged to the requested and waived off the entire bill. Apart from that Ashok Kotecha of BAPS Swaminarayan Trust gave free flight ticket as well as additional Rs 10,000 as pocket money. Odnala Rajesh had reached his native village and under a 14-day quarantine.
