Banjara Hills Police Station Test Positive

Many officers policing us during the lockdown are tested positive. Around nine constables and one sub-inspector were tested positive so far in the last couple of days in Banjara Hills police station Hyderabad. The police personnel positive of Covid-19 have been shifted to the Gandhi hospital to a special ward which would treat active policemen on duty.

The number of infection from a single police station was staggering. This led to panic in the police department across the state. The police station is located in the glitzy Banjara Hills locality with 150 personnel. So far 50 policemen have undergone the test and around 20 are tested positive. The total number of policemen tested positive is 100. These policemen were infected while working in a containment zone.

According to M. Mahendar Reddy Director-General of Police said that police are in danger of getting infected because of their constant exposure in Covid-19 region.

The DGP has informed that any officer who is not feeling well can take leave without any sanction. Any staff member sick or showing mild symptoms of coronavirus can go in quarantine and take rest either at home or in a Government Hospital.
