Puneri Paltan secured their place in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 final with a convincing 37-21 victory over three-time champions Patna Pirates at the GMC Balayogi Stadium in Hyderabad. The Paltan, led by skipper Aslam Inamdar’s impressive 7 raid points, displayed an all-around performance. They will now await the winner of Semi-Final 2 on March 1, aiming for their first-ever PKL title.
In a closely contested start to Semi-Final 1, both teams exchanged early blows. While Sachin shone as Patna Pirates’ standout raider, Puneri Paltan’s all-round effort slightly edged them ahead. Mohit Goyat’s successful Do-or-Die raid in the 6th minute triggered a point surge, leading to an All-out on Patna Pirates by the end of the first half, giving Puneri Paltan a 20-11 lead.
Maintaining the momentum, Puneri Paltan inflicted another All-out on Patna Pirates in the second half. Despite Sachin and Sudhakar M contributing points for the Pirates, Puneri Paltan controlled the game. Aslam Inamdar and Pankaj Mohite excelled in raiding, while Mohammadreza Chiyaneh anchored the defense, supported by Abinesh Nadarajan and Gaurav Khatri.
Despite a late effort by Manjeet from Patna Pirates, Puneri Paltan answered all challenges, securing a well-deserved spot in their second consecutive final.
